Hasko acquires a majority stake in Mekanika Bilreservdelar AB – a well-established Swedish online retailer of automotive spare parts

Mekanika Bilreservdelar AB was founded by brothers Fredrik and Mikael Brunnhede more than 15 years ago. The company has built a strong position as an online retailer of automotive spare parts and accessories, serving car workshops and dealerships, with a particular focus on western Sweden.

Mekanika offers a broad range of spare parts for many of the most common car brands in the Swedish market, as well as automotive accessories from well-known brands. With a large in-house warehouse, high delivery reliability through its own delivery routes, and outstanding customer service, Mekanika has established itself as one of western Sweden’s most popular online providers of automotive spare parts. Revenue for the most recent financial year amounted to approximately SEK 40 million, with strong growth and solid margins.

The sellers, Fredrik and Mikael Brunnhede, will remain minority shareholders and continue to lead the company operationally following the transaction. With Hasko as its new majority owner, Mekanika will continue its growth journey and further strengthen its position as one of Sweden’s most attractive online providers of automotive spare parts.

“We are very pleased to welcome Hasko as our new ownership partner. With their experience and resources, we are confident that Mekanika can take the next step in its development while continuing to offer our customers the best range of automotive parts and deliver the highest customer satisfaction in the Swedish market,” says Mikael Brunnhede, CEO of Mekanika Bilreservdelar AB.

Joakim Tengzelius, CEO of Hasko, comments: “Mekanika is a well-run company with a long history and a unique market position that combines e-commerce, competitive prices, and in-house distribution. They have a proven ability to deliver on time and always keep the customer in focus. This is exactly the type of company we are looking for. We see significant potential to further strengthen the company’s offering and continue its growth journey together, and we look forward to working with Mikael, Fredrik, and the team.”

The acquisition is in line with Hasko’s strategy to invest in profitable, growing product companies in the Nordics with sustainable competitive advantages.
